NEWS 4/07/08

The A DEATH IN THE FAMILY + THE GIFTHORSE Espy Hotel show on Sat July 12th has now been moved into the Gershwin Room. Entry is still free and also playing will be KILL WHITEY and DEAF WISH. Show starts @ 9pm.

Melbourne's DAYSWORTH FIGHTING and Brisbane's THE GIFTHORSE are both putting the finishing touches on their respective debut albums. With both releases due out on Poison City during August, they are currently planning a combined national tour for September. Full dates announced soon!

FEAR LIKE US are about to take an extended break while Kim + Babs head overseas. The initial Digipack version of their "S/T" album is now totally sold-out but a new pressing will be availble in coming months.

We're very proud to announce the addition of MILLOY to the Poison City label. Based in Wakefield (UK) MILLOY originally formed in 2000 and have since released 2 EPs, a Split with The Leif Ericsson and their highly successful debut album "More Than A Machine". In 2006 they also contributed 2 tracks to a Split 7" with fellow UK band, BILLY NO MATES (featuring Duncan Redmonds of SNUFF). Later in 08' Poison City will release the Australian/ NZ version of MILLOY's brand new album "Creating Problems While Practising Solutions". More info soon!

Tickets for the upcoming GASLIGHT ANTHEM (USA) + A DEATH IN THE FAMILY Australian Tour are on sale now and moving fast (especially for the Melbourne and Sydney shows.) Some of the local supports have also just been announced. Check Resist Records web-site for full details.

Later in 08' Poison City will be releasing a combined side project titled TYRE SWANS. The album will feature solo tracks from DONNIE DUREAU (Blueline Medic), JAMIE HAY (Fear Like Us/ A Death In The Family) and DARREN GIBSON (Lead Sketch Union) as well as several songs written & recorded as a trio. There are also plans for a short run of national album launch dates later in 2008. More info soon……

Melbourne punk kids, THIS WAR continue to tear around the country on their extensive "Ocean-Deep" national tour. The EP is out now and has been receiving some great reviews both locally and overseas.

The new POISON CITY RECORDS hoodies are now available via mailorder or direct from the Poison City Store in Fitzroy. The hoods are heavy weight (Gildan) and are available in all sizes (S/M/L/XL).
